Community Benefits
All proceeds from the event are donated back to the community as contributions to the organisations that support the running of the event. Groups such as local football/netball clubs, the mountain bike and BMX club, and other sporting and community associations provide volunteers and marshals to assist with the logistics of the event, and are provided a cash contribution to assist with their club expenses.
In 2012, a fund was established with South West Sports to provide grants to local athletes to assist with travel or expenses relating to interstate or international competition. To date, this fund has provided nearly $10,000 to junior, elite and masters athletes from our region helping them travel interstate or overseas for competition.
More information regarding the Surf T Surf sports grants is available from South West Sports.
Other local charities benefit from the proceeds of the Surf T Surf, including Peter’s Project, Leila Rose Foundation and Lets Talk
