The Surf T Surf has a rich history of attracting some of Victoria and Australia’s best running talent. From Commonwealth and Olympic games competitors to age group triathlon champions, the race is invariably run with a deep field of class athletes.

Winners of the marquee 10km and 6km running events are awarded cash prizes and medallions. Of particular note, the female winner of the Surf T Surf is awarded the Judy McDowall Memorial Medal, named after one of Warrnambool’s great running personalities who passed away in 2012 after battling leukemia. Judy won six consecutive Surf T Surf events in the late 1990s, including an incredible 35 minutes, 48 second run in 1996. In 2018 the records were broken when the Men’s winner went sub 30 min. The women’s winner in the same year went sub 34 min. Incredible running.

• 10km run – $500 for both the male and female winners
• 6km run – $300 for both the male and female winners

Winners of the 6km walk and 3km Lap of the Lake are awarded medallions and vouchers.

• 6km walk – $200 voucher for both the male and female winners
• Lap of the Lake – $100 voucher for both the male and female winners
