Entry:
There are three ways to register:

1. On-line/Mail: Register on-line/Mail. On-line and postal registrations will close 5pm Thursday 5th January 2012. All online registrations will receive a e-receipt which details the events registered, particpants name and cost along with a status. Status must read as "Approved" for registration to be complete. If you do not receive an e-receipt of if Status reads as "Declined" please contact info@surftosurf.org with a contact phone number. 

2. In person: The Surf 'T' Surf Committee will be taking registrations and distributing race kits on Saturday 7th January 2012 from 9:00am - 3:00 pm in Lake Pertobe opposite the Kiosk/milk bar and Carnival. The Committee will be located where the marshalling area will be set-up on the day of the event.

3. On the day: Entries will be open race day on Sunday 8th January 2012 from 7:00am and will close at 8:00am. If you choose to register on the day it is highly recommended that you do so early to avoid any delays.

The field will be limited to 2,000 participants to ensure that all entrants are allocated electronic timing tags and race bibs.

Event garments are guaranteed to those who register prior to 5pm Monday 19th December 2011. Race apparel will be allocated on date of entry following initial allocation until stocks run out.

Race Kits:
Race kits will not be sent out and can be collected:

  • Lake Pertobe in event marshalling area, adjacent to Kiosk
  • Saturday 7th January, 2012, 9am – 3pm
  • Raceday: Sunday 8th January, 2012, 7am – 8am

If you are unable to pick up your race kit during the allotted time, e-mail info@surftosurf.org to make alternate arrangements.

Race Bibs: All participants are required to wear race bibs. The bibs will be colour coded according to event and must be clearly displayed by being pinned across the outside of the midriff area of your shirt or singlet.

Timing: Results will be captured by Times-7 Sport, using an electronic timing tag system that records participants via a signal emitting chip attached to each entrant's shoe as they cross the start and finish lines.

Volunteers will be on hand to assist with application and removal of the timing devices post race. Each timing device carries a fee of $5.00 if they are not returned at the end of the race and will be charged to the participant.

Certificates :
Each participant will receive an official Surf 'T' Surf certificate with his or her recorded time. Certificates will be available electronically via the results page of this web site in the days following the event.

Restrictions:
Pram participants - To ensure the safety of all participants, pram participants will be asked to start at the back of the field
No dogs, bicycles, skateboards, inline skates (roller blades) are allowed on course with participants.

Water Stations: 
4 water stations will be provided on-course. On-course water stations provide water in plastic cups on trestle tables and every participant will be provided a bottle of water upon finishing courtesy of The Standard.

Drink station 2: 4.3 km Simpson St
Drink Station 3: 6.5km Belmore Rd
Drink station 4: 8km Timor St

Refreshments:
Fresh fruit will be available upon finishing.

Figsellers Cafe will be selling freshly squeezed ice cold orange juice and barista coffee in the marshalling area near the Start/Finish line.

Toilets: There are a number of public toilet facilities provided in the Lake Pertobe precinct. There are no on course toilet facilities provided for.

First Aid: The Red Cross will provide on course first aid during the event. Red cross members will be stationed at the event finish line, drink station 4 and mobile members will progress through the entire course.
Sun screen will be provided at the start/finish line courtesy of Cancer Council of Victoria.

Ambulance Victoria will have an ambulance and two paramedics on site in case of an emergency.

Spectators: Families and friends are encouraged to come along and enjoy the morning. Parking will be restricted around the start finish line within Lake Pertobe.

Road Closures: The following road closures will take effect prior to and during the event:

  • Pertobe Road, northbound lane only, from the entrance to McGennans Car Park to the Merri Street Roundabout, closed to traffic from 7.00am to 9.00am.
  • Merri Street, westbound from Banyan Street to Liebig Street, Liebig Street, northbound from Merri Street to Timor Street, and Merri St, both lanes from Gillies Street to Liebig Street from 8.30 am to 9.00am.
  • Flaxman Street, southbound, from Raglan Parade to Nicholson Street, from 8.45am to 9.45am
  • The car park and service lane on the northern side (lake side) of Pertobe Road, directly adjacent to the milk bar/carnival will be closed from 5:30am to 11:00am to traffic.

Parking: If you are travelling by car to the event, the Jetty Flat sports complex (home of the Warrnambool Athletics Club) will be a good place to park. The complex is approximately 750m from the start/finish line.

Prizes: Individual prizes awarded to 1st male, female and Teams in each of the three events.

Spot prizes will be awarded to randomly selected participants in all events at the completion of the activities. So whether you record your best time or your worst time, you are still a chance of winning a great prize.

Photos: Event photographs will be provided by The Sports Photographer. Photos can be purchased at www.thesportsphotographer.net. Be sure to check the web site in the days following the event to see if you have been photographed!

Volunteering: We need volunteers to assist with the running of the Event and without them the Event would not be possible. Becoming a volunteer can be a very rewarding and satisfying experience.
