Can I enter on the day?
Yes, but only for the ‘Lap of The Lake’ between 7.00am and 7.30am.
On-line entry is the preferred method up until midnight, Tuesday 2nd January 2018. Entry can be made in person on Friday 5th January between 6pm and 8pm and Saturday 6th January between 10am and 1pm at Lake Pertobe. Entry fees become more expensive after the on-line entry closure. Please see our information page for details (we do encourage you to enter via the website before 2nd January).
What happens if I am unable to do the event?
If you are unable to participate in the event having already entered, we are able to offer a full refund – less a $5 administration fee – up until 2pm on Saturday 6th January 2018, provided that the race kit has not been collected. Cancellation of entries after this time will not be eligible for a refund. Please contact the race committee on firstname.lastname@example.org or via our Facebook page if you are unable to participate.
What is in the race kit?
Your race kit will contain:
- a race bib specific to your event with a timing chip attached
- safety pins to attach to the front of your running shirt
- a race shirt or singlet (subject to availability)
- other goodies from our sponsors
If you are missing your race bib or you think the bib is for the wrong event, please speak to our volunteers at Lake Pertobe when you collect your kit.
Will a race kit be sent to me before the event?
Race kits will not be sent out and can be collected from Warrnambool Surf Club on:
- Friday 5th January – 6pm – 8pm
- Saturday 6th January – 10am – 2pm
Can I use my iPod/mp3 player on course?
Use of these items on race day is strongly discouraged as it compromises your safety and the safety of others. However, if using one please be courteous to other competitors and be mindful of marshalls and volunteers who may be giving you directional instructions.
What will the entry show on my credit card?
The transaction on your credit card statement will appear as payment to ‘Register Now Pty Ltd’
What time do I need to be at the start line at Lake Pertobe on race morning?
Participants are encouraged to arrive prior to 7:30am to allow time to familiarise yourself with the race precinct and allow time for a warm up. There is a compulsory race briefing at 7:45am. Leave yourself plenty of time as traffic will become congested in the Lake Pertobe area as the as the race start time nears.
Will I be timed?
All events will feature electronic timing, and timing clocks will be displayed at the finish line. Official times will be published in The Warrnambool Standard and be available online at www.surftosurf.org from Monday 8th January 2018.
Will photographs of the event be available?
Since 2014, the Warrnambool Camera Club have provided volunteer photographers stationed around the course to take photos of participants. These photos have been available for purchase from their website in the days following the event, the proceeds of which help support the ongoing maintenance of their club facilities including their website.
We are very pleased to again be able to offer FREE ACCESS to all photos taken by the Warrnambool Camera Club. These photos will be available within a couple of days of the race, and will be organised by event. Please browse through their gallery to find images of yourself and download high resolution copies.
Every effort is made to ensure that all runners are photographed, but given the nature of the event this is impossible to guarantee. We apologise if you are unable to locate any images of yourself, your friends or family.
